A Political Action Committee for the Northeast Corridor

Fixing transportation in the Northeast.

North Transit PAC supports candidates from Washington to Boston who are committed to building and improving the rail transit that the northeast needs.

Mission
Who we are and how we work.

North Transit PAC is a political action committee bringing together riders, transit workers, and elected officials across the Northeast Corridor to advance the regional transit investments that have been deferred for decades. We endorse candidates, organize constituents, and advocate at every level of government.

Issues

Our priorities for the corridor.

01
Complete the Gateway Program
New Hudson River rail tubes are among the highest-return infrastructure investments available to the federal government. We work with the Northeast delegation to keep funding and construction on schedule.
02
Modernize signals and eliminate slow zones
CBTC across the New York City subway and a rigorous implementation of Positive Train Control on commuter rail. We support candidates who treat state-of-good-repair as a baseline obligation.
03
Enforceable bus priority
Camera enforcement, physical separation, and signal priority on every BRT corridor from Hartford to Newark. Buses carry the majority of transit trips in our region and receive a small fraction of the capital.
04
Electrify commuter rail
The Hartford Line, the Providence Line, and the Port Jervis branch are ready candidates. Electrification is faster, quieter, and less expensive to operate. We support state legislators advancing these projects.
05
Congestion pricing where it is viable
Manhattan has demonstrated the model. Boston, Hartford, and Philadelphia are logical next steps. We support programs that direct congestion revenue to transit capital investment.
